The Ypsilanti DDA is back with the second year of Sammie Slam! This year instead of two-weeks, we will be celebrating Sammie Slam for the whole month of April – an event highlighting the best sandwiches in town. Visit participating spots, order at least two sandwiches, and you’ll be entered to win $20, $50, or $100 in a gift card from your favorite sandwich competitor. Every sandwich from a different location gets you another entry.

In addition, local businesses will compete for the title of Ypsi’s Best Sandwich, earning bragging rights for the year.

To enter, visit one of the 22 participating restaurants to pick up a Sammie Slam passport. After trying as many sandwiches as you can, return the passport with your stamps to any participating restaurant or City Hall by May 5th!.

Don’t grind your gears too hard waiting for Sammie Slam because it will be worth it with the Italian Grinder!. They take pepperoni, ham, and their five blend and bake it on ciabatta bread. After toasting in the oven it’s then topped with chopped romaine, diced tomatoes, sliced red onion, and banana pepper rings with a side of Italian dressing. Served with the guest’s choice of side.
