DDA Meetings are open to the public and held on the third Thursday of each month at 8:00 a.m. in the conference room just east of 30 N. Washington in Ypsilanti. Meeting schedule.

Background

The Ypsilanti Downtown Development Authority is a board of nine citizens appointed by the Mayor and City Council to promote economic development in Downtown Ypsilanti. Subject to City Council approval, the DDA may use its bonding capacity and taxes captured through new construction (tax increment financing) to help finance public and public-private developments that encourage the economic vitality of the downtown area.

The DDA district is bordered by Pearl Street to the north and Ferris Street to the South. Water Street to the East and Ballard Street to the West.  DDA Boundry Map Map of the District with other Attractions


Downtown Strategic Plan

The Ypsilanti DDA, in conjuction with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and their Blueprints for Michigan's Downtowns program, is working with national downtown revitalization consultants HyettPalma on creating a new 5 year strategic plan for downtown Ypsilanti.  A new 5 year strategic plan has just been released.  Below are the links to a PowerPoint summary of the study and the full written study.
